“The MDGs office is directly under the Secretary to the State Government office and it is only the SSG that can comment on the fire incidence,” he said, and directed the journalists to the SSG office saying he needed time to consult with the SSG, after when he would decide to or not to speak.
When contacted, the acting director, Bauchi State Fire Service, Babayo Umar Misau, said they received a telephone call at about 8: 23 pm about the fire outbreak.
Misau said men of the Fire Service were able to prevent some valuable document from being consumed by the fire.
He said his men were also able to prevent the fire from spreading to the surrounding environment adding that no life was lost in the incident.
He said the cause of the fire is yet unknown as inquiry is still on-going.
