I am 31 and he’s 30. We have been together eight years and have two boys aged six and two, and a girl of four.
I thought we were happy and he’s great with our children. My cousin is 25 and has always had a reputation around men. I believed her when she said her girls aged four and two were both from one-night-stands.
We were really close throughout our second pregnancies and the babies were born six weeks apart. What a mug I was, telling my partner we should support her as she was on her own, when all the time he was sharing her bed.
I found out the truth when he forgot his phone one day last week and a text message bleeped. I flicked it on in case it was a message from work and was horrified to read a sexy message from a girl. She’d sent him a photo too and I nearly died when I saw it was my cousin revealing all.
I rang him to come home. He tried to deny everything at first, but finally broke down and admitted he’d been seeing her since a year after we met. I realise now why his “overtime” never seemed to bring in much extra cash.
I do not know how to go on. My relationship is a sham and my family too.
